dana & joe

um... yeah... cute....

dana suggested that they do a piggy back picture... then she told me why. apparently, at some point in time, joe was giving her a piggy back ride. she started to slip, and at the same time that she pushed herself up, joe boosted her up... and she went flying over his head onto the ground. these shots are an homage to that incident...

i stopped dana and joe here not for the scenery, but because these kids were so funny. you just see them peeking over and the kid on the left is actually singing a song about how the whole world loves you...
ridiculous... i love it.

dana and joe live in hoboken... when i think of hoboken i think of 'where am i going to park'... this is my homage to hoboken....

love this shot!

i love this shot because if you look closely you can see that dana is leaning back on her heels and joe is leaning forward on his toes... love the little gesture....
i had a great time shooting dana and joe in hoboken on a lovely september afternoon and am looking forward to their wedding next year!

elizabeth & donovan

elizabeth and donovan are clearly meant to be together and so much fun to be around. they hired a great team of vendors and had an insane party! i've never seen a dance floor at a wedding stay packed from the second the music started until after it ended.

beth's mom touches up her make-up, while beth takes a peek at hers..

beth hands off her engagement ring to be cleaned before the ceremony...

these flowers were absolutely stunning, i'm not sure that any picture could do them justice. flowers by antheia.

donovan hams it up with the ladies...

beth and donovan had a friend bring their dog wiley to meet us for a few pics. what a cutie...

beautiful day in september= lots of people at liberty state park...

love love love this shot of these two...

have you noticed donovan's stylin' shoes yet?

donovan is a musician and so as he crossed the street abbey road was in my mind... that and trying to get out of the way as the light changed and cars raced towards me...

beth's sister looking on during the ceremony...

this was one of the sweetest ceremonies i have ever witnessed. touching readings and poems read by close friends and family. lots of tears and laughter.... and a beautiful, gorgeous day...

i've never had a baby start to pose for me, but when i tell you this guy literally started hamming it up for the camera, i am not even kidding. he started giving me different poses. this boy is way ahead of his years!

and a lick for uncle donovan...

the reception was held at the newly opened michael anthony's in jersey city. this was the first wedding they hosted and you would never know it. the service was great, the food was delicious and the you can't beat the on-the-water setting...

beth and donovan hired james abel as the event coordinator. i recommend james to anyone. loved the simple, yet elegant silver table settings...

this party did not stop and the crowd chanted for more when the last song was played by dj eric visa. since donovan is a musician, music was really important to him and he said it was the hardest part of the planning. total success though! songs i hadn't heard in so long, mixed with popular songs, mixed with old school, mixed with classic... so much fun! i'm convinced eric visa could mix any songs you give him and make them sound amazing.

beth's nephew, brandon, was celebrating his birthday on their wedding day so beth and donovan dedicated a song to him....

go shorty... it's your birthday... we gonna party like it's your birthday...

this scene literally had me cracking up. most weddings there will be at least one guy that ends up with a tie or napkin, or something tied around his head. this little guy was following suit, but he was having problems... i watched this little girl step in and tie it for him.

so funny, for so many reasons....

these two are going to be some crazy wedding guests when they get older...

donovan is a dance machine. i'm pretty sure he should start a freelance wedding dancing company. this guy did not stop!

now i've seen a lot of random stuff at weddings, but i've never seen a girl get down on the floor in a dress to do push-ups to the theme from rocky. love it!

this was a beautiful september day and i was lucky enough to spend it with a beautiful couple. beth and donovan were so laid-back and fun to work with. their friends and family were exactly the same way and made for such a great day of shooting. you can feel the love these two share for one another and for those around them.... thanks to david lim for joining me on this shoot.

i was so inspired by the energy of their party, that i couldn't help but put on the rocky theme myself while i edited the dance photos....
